A GOOD MOVIE ......A SENSIBLE ONE....A ROMANTIC ONE...WITH A CINEMATOGRAPHIC XCELLENCE

MY PERSNL REVIEW ;;
5 SUNDARIKAL - an anthology of 5 short movies by 5 brilliant directors .

SETHULAKSHMI by SHYJU KHALID -

How cruel a grown up male adult can be to an innocent girl child is portrayed through this very realistic short film by the debutant Shyju Khalid . The movie started of very pleasantly and gradually it moves into the main plot where the world is shown as an unsafe place even for a very very young girl . Cinematography was top notch and set it in the backdrops of a village and the performances from the child artists were mind blowing . Being a kid , one(he/she) is very helpless and unsure of what is right and what is wrong , and all the fear he/she has been shown in a subtle manner which leaves the audience thinking when the end credits roll .

ISHA by SAMEER THAHIR -

Isha , a gorgeous , sexy , dazzling , seductive and too hard a babe to resist that even a thief will forget his way .
This short was very beautifully captured and presented on screen and was indeed a visual treat to the eyes . Screen presence of Isha Sherwani and Nivin was the other positive , but i felt this piece of art as a more commercialized one .

GOURI by AASHIQ ABU -

Gouri was as simple a lady can be , very subtle , caring , lovable and much more .
Perhaps , this is the only story which lacked any depth , and failed to keep the audience interested in it . The bad reputation which Aashiq Abu earned through the social networking media recently had adversely affected the short as it was quite evident from the unnecessary hooting from mob .

KULLANTE BHARYA by AMAL NEERAD (MY FAVOURITE) -

Kullante Bharya is the subtle portrayal of a woman , who gets bitched all through out and the victim of fake sympathy of the society when she is gone . The bitching was not limited to the female lead but also to her pair and society was the key to this short.
You will see many characters on screen whom you might have met in your real life .
The main attraction of this short was the screen presence of Dulquer who was quite brilliant with the narration of the whole story . This short certainly evokes the feelings of the audience as the scenic presentation is not so unfamiliar to the common man .
After the short was over , i wondered whether it was made by Amal Neerad himself . But the end credits revealed that it was a true novel adaptation . But the short was brilliantly conceived afterall .
"AA KUDAYKKU KEEZHIYIL EE BHOOMIYIL ULLA YATHONNINUM NIRAYKAN KAZHIYATHA ORU SHOONYATHA NIRANJU NINNIRUNNU.........""(touchingclimax line...)

AAMI by ANWAR RASHEED .

Aami , perhaps the only sundari among the 5 , who got little acclaim . IMO , the story revolved around the male leads but AAMI was too beautiful nonetheless .
Our own Eemran Hashmi , Fahad Faazil carries the whole story on his shoulders .
Very often people forget to realize the true love when they run after money and is too vulnerable to adultery . The movie gives an insight to money , love , relationships and various other inevitable factors in our life .

Verdict :

My ratings - Kullante Bharya > Sethulakshmi > Aami > Isha > Gouri .

The thanks card to the technical brilliance , some of the shorts among the 5 , the gorgeous ladies , Dulquer and last but not the least the song in the end credits were the things i really loved about this anthology .
Being said that i felt it second to Kerala Cafe and i doubt its commercial success aswell . It doesnt have any of the crappy things which the malayalee audience have become interested in these days .

Watch it if you really feel like watching it .

Before i end , hatsoff to all the writers , cinematographers , directors for this piece of art . Let your friendship prevail just like your brilliance .
